Robertson & Olson Construction is a locally owned full-service general contractor located in beautiful Camas, Washington just outside Portland. We are authentic builders, made up of craftsman and technical construction professionals, and we take pride in our work and our relationships. We have earned our way into our current position as an award-winning construction company, and we will spend each and every day in the future earning our way through the next phase of projects and relationships. This is who we are.
Robertson & Olson has been serving clients throughout the Pacific Northwest, Southwest and Mountain regions for more than 20 years. We offer broad and deep industry experience in construction, and we have long-standing and new clients who support us and give us meaning. Our organization takes pride in being local, sustainable and environmentally responsible. We build LEED Platinum work, but we also do the right thing when no one is looking. We collaborate early and often, including offering our clients innovative solutions for a wide range of needs.
“Listen to the Client”
Robertson & Olson has developed a reputation for providing the highest level of construction service and excellence. This includes building creative solutions and value, while continually maintaining integrity, fairness, dependability and quality that exceeds industry standards.
At Robertson & Olson Construction, we believe in a client-focused approach to doing business. This means listening to our clients, taking the time to understand their objectives, offering valuable input to improve economic and operational vitality, and performing as a collaborative and committed partner. We are extremely proud of the long-term relationships we have developed with many clients.
“Top Quality or Nothing”
We are known for top quality, and President Matt Olson holds the entire company and all valued subcontractor partners accountable to a very high standard of quality. The old saying “measure twice and cut once” is average performance. We prefer to “think twice, measure twice and then cut to precision”—and our clients experience the difference. Our project teams continually strive for zero punch lists and nonexistent rework. This is the only way Robertson & Olson is willing to have it.
“Our Reputation and Company Culture”
Next to our personnel team, our reputation is Robertson & Olson’s most important asset. We have built our name of integrity, fairness and dependability the old fashioned way—by earning it with every client, on every project.
We strive to conduct business in a manner that earns us the respect and goodwill of those we work with.
We continuously strengthen our reputation in the industry by working within this ethos. We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage subcontractor bids from all companies, including emerging small business enterprises, those who are disadvantaged or disabled, and minorities, women and veterans. At Robertson & Olson, we firmly believe that there’s no project too big and no detail too small. We value trust over everything else—amongst our team members as well as in our relationships with professional partners.
It used to be that working hard was enough; in fact, it was commendable. And like some other companies, we began to work smarter, too. That approach has panned out for many in the recent past and even today. But those who get ahead—those who truly, personally care about their work and their clients’ critical objectives—don’t think that is enough. At Robertson & Olson, we always work under this principle: If our individual expectations exceed those of the client and the architect, we are sure to be successful.
This means we care more than anyone else out there. It’s a bold statement—we know—but it is rooted in sweat, smarts and heart. Simply put, Robertson & Olson promises to: Start smart, finish strong.
We believe the above is both relevant and meaningful; not because we write it, but because we live it and breathe it. We don’t have a better mousetrap; we just have ourselves, and our company operates differently than other builders.
We grew up in the dirt, and we are comfortable in the dirt. It’s not glamorous, but we don’t particularly care.
We are Builders and Craftsman, and hope to share our passion with you.
