Senior Estimator

Robertson & Olson Construction, Inc., a Commercial General Contractor with over 20 years of experience in the Pacific Northwest, has an immediate opening for an Estimator to support our Camas, WA office. Candidate must have several years of experience in all aspects of estimating to include negotiated work, conceptual estimates, and competitive bidding; with knowledge in a variety of project types including tenant improvements, ground-up buildings with associated site work and pad ready buildings. This position requires the ability to coordinate all aspects of the estimating process efficiently and handle multiple estimates simultaneously. Civil estimating experience preferred. The ideal candidate is capable of generating accurate scopes of work and pricing, participating in project walk-throughs or pre-bid meetings, and meeting critical deadlines in high pressure situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare complete quantity take-offs, ensuring all items incorporated in the assigned scopes and priced accurately.
  • Perform constructability analyses through the identification of design and constructability issues.
  • Develop and define accurate and concise estimate clarifications and assumptions.
  • Obtain clarifications on plans and specifications from architects and engineers when necessary.
  • Communicate with architects, owners and consultants to clarify scope of work.
  • Direct, coordinate and provide information and documents to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Build relationships with subcontractors and clients to gain respect and confidence.
  • Analyze subcontractor proposals for completeness in required scope of work.
  • Keep current with the latest estimating technology and techniques.
  • Demonstrate basic conceptual estimating skills by interpreting data.
  • Supply Value Engineering when required.

Qualifications:

  • Proven hands on experience in estimating.
  • History of work in various construction types.
  • Working knowledge of all major elements of commercial building.
  • Ability to independently produce conceptual estimates.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and BlueBeam strongly preferred.
  • CAD and Revit experience preferred.

Project Engineer

Robertson & Olson Construction is seeking a Project Engineer. The Project Engineer assists the Project Manager in efficiently managing his projects by preparing and administering bid packages, contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders as well as tracking material deliveries and maintaining documentation control. The PE will participate in scheduling, procurement, reviewing shop drawings, cost reviews and project close-out, assist in the preparation, execution, and compliance of Owner, Subcontractor, and Vendor change orders, prepare reports and documentation as requested by the Project Manager.

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate will have above-average computer skills, particularly with MS Office and MS Project, and excellent speaking and writing skills. Skill with Timberline software is highly preferred, as well as the ability to quickly learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.

Project Assistant

The Project Assistant will perform specific tasks related to the general construction and project management. The successful candidate should have relevant experience in the construction field, be organized, professional, and possess strong computer skills in Timberline and Microsoft Office. They must be able to take direction and prioritize to comply with schedules and deadlines along with communication both verbally and written.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the acquisition, updating, distributing, and recording of all construction plans, specs and addenda.
  • Assist in preparing, generating, distributing and recording construction projects.
  • Acquiring, organizing, recording and distribution of reports, job pictures and meeting minutes.
  • Assisting with preparing, track submittals, process, track and post RFI’s (Request for Information) & -ASI’s (Architect’s Supplemental Information).
  • Distributing and recording multiple communication items such as letters, emails, reports and documents.
  • Preparing all close-out documents and recording.
  • Assisting in communication both verbally and written with Project Management, Subcontractors, Owners, Architects, City officials.

Qualifications:

Project Manager

Commercial General Contractor with 20 years of experience in the Pacific Northwest is in search of a Project Manager to support our Camas, WA office. An ideal candidate for this position will have extensive experience managing multiple commercial projects with skills in estimating, subcontracting, buyout and client relations.   • Estimating projects for future development.
  • Managing project buy-out.

  • Completing chain of events paperwork to include RFI submittals, change orders and close-out documents.
  • Reviewing the operating results of the construction team and taking steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct any unsatisfactory results.
  • Attending weekly subcontractor progress meetings and distributing meeting minutes.

Qualifications:

  • Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.

Commercial Construction Superintendent

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing work among all trades to promote a coordinated project operation.
  • Managing work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of contract documents.
