Since 2012, Robertson & Olson has been a qualified general contractor for Red Robin International, Inc. and has built several restaurants throughout the region. We recently finished a 4,500 sq. ft. Red Robin Gourmet Burgers located at Grand Central Shopping Center in Vancouver, WA, which we completed in 90 days.

We recently finished shell and tenant improvement work for the new Freshii restaurant at 192nd Avenue and Mill Plain Boulevard; it’s our third Freshii project in the last several months! Completed in under three months, this clean and modern space echoes the fresh, clean meals served for Freshii’s health-conscious fast food customers.

Owners of Geary Square Retail chose Robertson & Olson to construct the Petco site and perform shell and tenant improvement work. This building was constructed with structural concrete masonry units and includes distinctive features such as grooming stations, a tub room, an aquatic wall, aviaries, other small-animal habitats with exhaust ducts and more. This 17,000 sq. ft. building was completed in just over four months.

Gramor Development selected Robertson & Olson to replace the existing Albertson’s façade, which was demolished and rebuilt to create a streamlined, modern look for the new tenant, New Seasons Market. Above the storefront, we installed a “living roof”—a roof partially covered with vegetation—during the remodel. This feature serves several purposes, including absorbing rainwater, insulating the building and providing a habitat for wildlife.

In 2014, Robertson & Olson completed a 15,000 sq. ft. concrete masonry unit Ace Hardware store with unique features such as a large timber-framed gable entry and canopy with decorative brick façade. Interior features include energy-saving 100% LED lighting, an open ceiling plan and large windows that provide plenty of natural light.

In 2015, we completed a beautiful tenant improvement project at Timberland Town Center for Barre3 Studios. This is the first Barre3 in the area to have a working garage door, providing welcome fresh air and additional natural light.

We developed our relationship with Dick’s Sporting Goods in 2009 when they approached Robertson & Olson to retrofit four Oregon Joe’s Sports and More stores to house Dick’s Sporting Goods and introduce them to the Northwest market. Dick’s Sporting Goods directly hired us to complete all four locations simultaneously in 12 weeks to meet their tight schedule. These projects required interior demolition and storefront retrofits to meet the standard Dick’s prototype, such as a “power aisle” down the center of the store. Since finishing those first four projects, we have become one of four Dick’s Sporting Goods Preferred General Contractors selected to build in multiple states. We value our relationship with Dick’s and are licensed in many states to allow our partnership to expand throughout the U.S.

We have built more than 27 Walgreens for various developers as well as directly for Walgreens, Inc. in recent years. We started with converting 11 Hi-School Pharmacy stores in Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA into Walgreens. In one year, all 11 Walgreens were completed and opened on time, from permitting to turnover. We have constructed at least one Walgreens store per year since our founding in 1995 including Washington sites in Vancouver, Longview, Bellevue, Olympia and Bainbridge Island; Oregon sites in Wilsonville, St. Helens, Ontario, Crescent City, Roseburg, Eugene, Woodburn and Portland; and a store in Butte, MT.

Robertson & Olson has completed many ground-up Safeway stores and performed several remodels throughout Oregon and Washington in recent years. Recently, we renovated the Barbur Boulevard Safeway in Portland, which is a 26,000 sq. ft. store originally built in 1965. We built a new podium 56,000 sq. ft. store with both on-grade and below-store parking. The new Safeway podium store provides new service department areas including the addition of a full service department for bakery, pharmacy, meat and seafood, as well as a coffee bar. Other ground-up stores we built include Safeway #1751 in Molalla, OR, and Washington stores #3006 in Issaquah, #3285 in Bellingham, #1687 in Washougal and #1653 and #1611 in Vancouver.

Robertson & Olson completed Crossroads for PacTrust in 2007. This 190-acre transit-oriented community/development located includes shops, restaurants and a wide variety of housing choices. Our role included building and site work for more than 241,000 sq. ft. of retail space with two banks, a service station, Winco, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Office Max, JoAnn’s Fabrics and three smaller buildings. We also constructed all of the highly successful neighborhood shops. Associated site work includes walkable streets and community gathering places.
